Christmas Tree Festival - 11 December
Our first year running this event and my what fantastic support we had with 29 trees being decorated ! Villagers and Primary School children alike embraced the spirit of the event to decorate the trees in a variety of themes and styles; we had an Octopus tree, a Chelsea football team tree, a United Nations tree, dog tree, christmas feast tree with actual vegetables, pudding and a turkey strapped to the top!!! We had a cake, the words of Christmas tree and the time together tree, appropriately named to show the time the families spent together making the trees... Click here to see them
A vast array of cakes, mince pies and hot drinks were available from the Maidwell Primary School, with stalls and tombola to provide a warm distraction from the cold!
Grateful thanks to everyone that helped with the organisaton and running of the event and those of you that took the time to come and view the trees. We hope to run the festival again next year, several families are already thinking of their theme and looking out for sale bargains.....
The Christingle service was beautiful, the Church looked stunning with the fabulous floral and candle decorations kindly provided by Ingrid Carter-Johnson.

Cricket Match - 17 July 2010, Maidwell Hall School
The annual inter-village cricket match between Haselbech and Maidwell will take place on Saturday 17th July, once again in the grounds of Maidwell Hall School with kind permission from Mr Lankester and the school governers.
As well as the usual cricket teas (available to non cricketers for a tiny fee), there will be a simple BBQ and beer/lager and bottles of wine available.
Since we
know the weather WILL be fine, it is hoped that outside games will be available
for the children though parents will need to supervise......
Casino Evening - January 2010
This was a terrific success and we owe so much to Sarah Paybody, Jane Bates and the team of helpers who provided and served food, manned the tables, the bar, cleared up and generally made sure everything worked on the night! Big thanks also to Angela and Philip Jackson and others for their efforts in ticket sales. Everyone who went said how much they enjoyed it and when could we do it again!
We owe grateful thanks to Mr Lankester and Maidwell Hall School for allowing us use of their facilites.
It was a resounding financial success having raised £3,150.00!!
All that work was definitely worthwhile.
