Friends of St Mary

The Friends of St Marys is a small group of villagers who come together to in June 2009 to primarily organise social events which would build community fellowship within the village, some of which would raise funds to maintain and improve the fabric of our village church, St Mary the Virgin, as an historic building. Other events are organised just to bring people together, not specifically to raise funds.

Dawn Wright agreed to chair the group and Ken Palmer agreed to hold the role of secretary.

Meetings are held in the Loder Hall, Maidwell and the dates will be shown on the Events Calendar. The meetings are open to all.

The current focus for fundraising events is to raise funds for the significant improvements proposed for the Church, to include the installation of a toilet and kitchen facilities, re-wiring, heating and the possible creation of a new mezzanine floor to create additional seating capacity in the church.
